Teachers from all over the world come in Italy to improve the Italian language and to update their teaching method.
The main purpose of this courses is to support you as Italian-language-teacher by bringing your theoretical knowledge and teaching methods up to date. The emphasis is placed on revitalizing linguistic and didactic abilities and refreshing your socio-economic and political-cultural knowledge of Italy.
The training course is held thrice a year in our school centres in Florence and Rome, with the following program: Teaching Italian as a foreign language (theory and practice), lessons in phonetics, DITALS-preparatory, class obsesrvations.
Our teaching method is based on communication. Students actively exercise the four fundamental functions of the language: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Particular attention, however, is given to conversation.
Naturally this method includes the study of the rules of syntax and grammar, which are essential to language learning, but which, alone, are not sufficient for gaining a real command of the language.

"I passed the DITALS 1 exam in February 2012. I contacted Leonardo da Vinci school a couple of months before from Barcelona, where I live, to ask questions. The staff was quick and very professional in answering and clarifying all my doubts. The day of the exam I arrived in Milan and I found the school without any problems thanks to the information that I received. In the classroom there was enough space so all the examinees could sit in a comfortable chair with a special desk to write. Before starting the examination, the structure of the several tests and the available time at our disposal were clearly explained. The results were sent to me by email as soon as the school received the results from Siena and the diploma was sent me by mail at home. My impression of the school is very positive, I found the structure right and staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and organized"
The Italian Courses are held in the morning or in the afternoon. You can join daily activities, meet fellow students, or enjoy exploring Italy. Our courses start every 2 weeks at all levels and you can stay as long as you want.
