Academic Credits to Learn Italian in Italy

Academic Credits | Study Grants | Bildungsurlaub

ACADEMIC CREDITS

If you want to earn credits for our Language Courses, we can help you as we collaborate with the Edgewood College, Madison, WI, and with the State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY) whereby students registering with us may, under the conditions outlined below, receive credits at the college. Since both are higher educational institutions fully accredited in the United States, these credits will normally be transferable to most American colleges and universities. Hereunder you will find the procedures to follow:

First steps prior to start your courses in Italy:

  1. You have to contact the Registrar Office of your University or College and ask whether they can grant credits for our courses directly. Attached you will find the syllabus of our Italian courses.
  2. If it does not work, you can enroll in our courses through our partner American institutions, Edgewood College or SUNY. Please read the procedures for each of them and choose the one you find more appropriate for your wants.

PROCEDURE FOR SUNY

In this case, you must enrol in the Leonardo da Vinci Courses through the Language Immersion Institute that is part of the State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY). This is the Registrar Office you have to apply to and contact for information:

LANGUAGE IMMERSION INSTITUTE AT NEW PALTZ (LII)
SUNY New Paltz
1 Hawk Drive, New Paltz
NEW YORK, NY 12561-7499
Tel. 845-257-3500
Fax. 845-257-3569
lii@newpaltz.edu
http://www.giveusaweekend.com
http://www.newpaltz.edu/italianstudies/courses.cfm

Lii is part of the State University of New York at New Paltz (SUNY) and can award 3 college credits per level (each level: 80 lessons/4 weeks). A student completing all 6 levels, could earn 18 college credits. Credits are entitled to the State University of New York at New Paltz. Please contact your Registrar Office to verify whether your college or university accepts credits awarded by SUNY at New Paltz (all universities usually do).

Which semesters of Italian language can be taken at Scuola Leonardo da Vinci with credits transfer? And how many credits can be earned?
Each level is completed in 80 lessons/4 weeks and awards 3 college credits. Course numbers for Courses in Italian are as follows:

They require a student’s social security number and date of birth (in addition to other information they collect from your application, like mailing address etc.) in order to process college credits. No other documents are required.

Scuola Leonardo da Vinci will send your evaluation at the end of the course to Language Immersion Institute and they will grant you credits.

You must formally request your transcript indicating credits earned from the office of Records and Registration of Language Immersion Institute. Instructions and a link to the Transcript Request Form can be found on their website: http://www.newpaltz.edu/lii/credits.html
