Duration Language Course: min. 2 weeks
Duration Masterclass: 2 weeks
Italian Language lessons: 40 lessons (4 per day, 20 per week)
Music Lessons: min. 24 hours + rehearsal and final concert

Note: this course is subject to an entrance examination (audio recordings of students' previous performances may count towards it). This is not required for attendance at the masterclasses as an auditor.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Oratorio del Gonfalone, students of this pogram will take part to the Masterclasses under the guidance of Angelo Persichilli in the morning. In the afetrnoon students will attend the regular Italian courses. At the end they will perform a final concert at the Oratorio del Gonfalone.

Angelo Persichilli, Italian music maestro

ANGELO PERSICHILLI has for forty years been soloist flute-player for the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.
He has recorded for RCA, Fonit Cetra, Frequenz and Edi-Pan.
He has given live concert performances consistently since 1970, and has worked with the most important Italian and international symphonic orchestras under the guidance of Maag, Gavazzeni, Gatti, Spivakov, Abbado and Renzetti.
He is currently art director of the Coro Polifonico Romano del Gonfalone.

From 8 December to 19 December 2008: Baroque music with ancient instruments.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Oratorio del Gonfalone, in the morning students will attend the masterclass of Giorgio Proietti and the special lessons of Corrado Veneziano for improving their Italian pronunciation. In the afetrnoon students will attend the regular Italian courses. At the end they will perform a final concert at the Oratorio del Gonfalone.

Giorgio Proietti, Italian professor orchestraGIORGIO PROIETTI is conductor and Professor of Orchestra Conducting at the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory, Venice. He has recorded for King Record, Bongiovanni, Victor JVC. He has conducted , among others, Giuseppe Verdi's "Un ballo in maschera" for the Sofia National Opera House, Vincenzo Bellini’s "Norma" at the Teatro "Verdi" di Sassari, Giacomo Puccini's "Turandot" and Amilcare Ponchielli's "La Gioconda" in several opera houses in Japan as part of the “Japan Tour 2000”. The Emperor and Empress of Japan attended the premiere of “La Gioconda”.

CORRADO VENEZIANO teaches Linguistics at the “Silvio D’Amico” National Academy of Dramatic Art in Rome. He is also Professor of Didactic of the Italian Language at the specialization course in Theatrical Pedagogy at the same Academy.

He has taught in various universities in Italy and abroad, including Harvard.

He is the author of many books, including the most widely-sold manual in Italy on diction, as well as the first multimedia textbook on phonetics for children. He has produced TV programmes the Italian public broadcaster RAI.

From 30 June to 11 July 2008: Opera Arias from Verdi;

From 14 July to 25 July 2008: Opera Arias from Puccini;

From 1 September to 12 September 2008: Opera Arias from Puccini;

From 15 September to 26 September 2008: Opera Arias from the age of Verismo;

From 8 December to 19 December 2008: Messa di Natale (Gregorian chant).

The standard language course of 2 weeks consists of 40 lessons. The Masterclass have a duration of 2 weeks and consist on 8 hours of diction, at least 20 hours of singing lessons (depending on the number of students) plus rehearsal and final concert.
