How to get to our School in Florence
By Car: A1 motorway "Autostrada del Sole" Milan - Rome exit Firenze-Nord
We recommend to contact your automobile club for various information and maps for your arrival at Florence.
On the Italian highways, on which you have to pay a toll fee, the gasoline stations are open 24 hours a day. On the other streets and in the city the opening hours are as follows: 7.30 am - 12.30 pm and 3.30 pm - 7.30 pm. Outside of these hours you have to go to the self service station where you can pay with 10, 20 or 50 Euro notes.
Garages and parking spaces where you have to pay are easy to find in Florence. Ask for cheaper weekly and monthly fees.
We recommend to ask for the green insurance card at your automobile club and advise you not to leave any articles of value or radios in your cars (insurance for theft).
By Train: Train from Milan / Verona / Venice via Bologna to Firenze S.M.N.
There are several night- and Eurocity-day-connections with Italy. People under 26 years may receive special discounts. Reservations for sleeping car or couchettes should be made as early as possible, as the trains to Italy are often overbooked, especially in summer.
By Plane: Flight to Florence-Peretola / Flight to Pisa-Airport, with Airport train direct to Florence / flight to Rome-Fiumicino, with Airport train to Roma-Termini and with train to Florence:
The airport Florence-Peretola-Amerigo Vespucci (FLR) has connections to the most important international airports as well as the airports of Milan and Rome. Transfer to the accommodation:
On your arrival in Florence, we recommend that you take a taxi to your accommodation. Taxis are easily found at the TAXI stations in front of the airport as well as the train station. Don't worry if you don't speak any Italian! It is enough just to show the address to the driver.
On request Scuola Leonardo da Vinci offers you a transfer service from the airport / railway station to the accommodation. Should you request a transfer, we ask you to indicate it on the enrolment form or write to us at least one week before arrival. We need exact information about your arrival day, arrival time, flight or train number.
